Now I’m here, lying on the ground and I hear a policeman saying: “The boy who caused the accident was drunk”. Mom, his voice seems so far away. My blood is spread all over the place and I’m trying hard not to cry. I hear the doctors saying: “This girl won’t make it”. I’m sure the boy who was driving the other car couldn’t even realize it…..while he was driving at full speed. He finally decided to drink and I have to die now. Why are people doing this, mom? Knowing well they can destroy other people’s lives? I feel the pain like a million daggers stabbed in my body at the same time. Tell my sister not to be scared, tell dad to be strong. Somebody had to tell that boy not to drive after he has drunk. Maybe if his parents had told him all these, I wouldn’t be dying now. My breath is getting weaker and weaker and I begin to feel afraid.These are my last seconds and I feel so…desperate. I would have liked to be able to give you a hug, mom, while I’m lying here on the ground, dying. I’d like to tell you I love you, for this only….. I LOVE YOU……..and bye……

THESE WORDS WERE WRITTEN BY A JOURNALIST WHO WAS AT THE PLACE OF THE ACCIDENT. BEFORE DYING, THE GIRL WHISPERED THESE WORDS AND THE JOURNALIST WROTE THEM IN A STATE OF SHOCK. THIS JOURNALIST STARTED A CAMPAIGN AGAINST “ DRIVING UNDER ALCOHOL”.
